The Love of a Pegasus Knight

This here is an innocent little Lyn/Florina fanfic that only made it to three chapters before conking out.

That said, it's not a well-written one, so I'm sporking it. Roy, Elbe, and Richard are being brought in again.

Prologue One morning, Florina woke up, hearing a battle from outside the tent, as Lord Hector came into the tent.
Richard: (Florina) Which tent?
(Hector) THE tent. You know, the one everyone in this army - and Merlinus - sleeps in.
(Florina) That explains how this army ended up spawning so many characters for FE6.

Was it so difficult to say "HER tent"?

"Hey, Florina, hurry up and get ready for battle! We need your help!" Hector exclaimed just before he ran back out OF the tent AND back into the battle.
Richard: (Tactician) What are YOU doing in her tent?! Go get your Support Level raised when I've killed off all the enemies and just have the boss twiddling his thumbs on the throne! Be Uberector in the meantime! *throws him into battle*

Florina then gets out of bed and gets her armor and everything on, but then she notices a little problem...
Elbe: The random switch to present tense?

"Umm.... Where's my lance?" Florina asked herself.

She started looking around the tent, to find BUT FOUND nothing but a spare axe of Hector's, which she can't lift because it's too heavy.
Elbe: (Florina) I can't even hold to one tense! How am I supposed to hold an axe?
"How can I fight without my lance?" Florina asked.
Elbe: (Florina) I suppose I'll have to use the Power of the Tense Shift! Hiyaaaa!
Richard: Why is there one of HECTOR'S axes in FLORINA'S tent?

...I thought I was joking about the entire army sleeping in a single tent. Then she hears a noise from the opening in the tent,   SEMICOLON! NOT COMMA!she looks back to see an enemy soldier at the entrance. "EEEKKKKKKKKK!" Florina screamed as the soldier started walking towards her. Elbe: (Florina) ANOTHER TEEEEEENSE SHIIIIIIIFT! "Heh heh heh! Look at the puny, unarmed girl!" the soldier laughed, "I'm going to have a lot of fun killing you! HAHAHA!"
Guardian's Song: The author was seventeen.

This corny dialogue is not excused by her age, in other words.

"HELP!!!" Florina yelled loudly as the soldier came closer to her.
Elbe: (Florina) WE'RE ABOUT TO HAVE ANOTHER TENSE SHIFT!

Outside the tent, Lyn hears Florina's screams
Elbe: (Florina) I TOLD YOU SO!!!
as she's helping Kent and Sain fight a strong enemy.
Roy: (Lyn) The army of Kent/Sain shippers. They are fearsome foes, and not at all dissuaded by canon heterosexuality.
Richard: YOU criticize this?
Roy: ...Huh? Where'd I criticize them? I was only complimenting their persistence. :B

"Florina!!!" Lyn yells, "Kent, it sounds like Florina is in trouble, I need to go help her!"

"Then you better hurry COMMA! milady, DASH! NOT COMMA! we'll try to keep this guy busy!" Kent said.
Richard: Because "we'll try to keep this guy busy" and "milady" totally sound like the same character.
Elbe: And we have a sixth shift between present and past tenses. I'm beginning to wonder if the author knew the difference.

Inside the tent, the soldier continues to get closer and closer to Florina, SEMICOLON! NOT COMMA! as he gets closer, he raises his lance, preparing to stab her with it. Florina was so scared, COMMA UNNECESSARY; SUBSTITUTE "THAT" all she could do is step back more and tremble.
Roy: (Florina) I don't swing that way! D:
Elbe: (Florina) Tense changes are not my kink! D:

And we're up to seven-point-five, by the way. I can't tell whether that "is" was a simple typo.

"You're making this too easy!" The the soldier stated as he started to pull his lance back, preparing to thrust it.
Roy: ...Yes. The author is making this much too easy.

As he is pulling his lance back, Lyn runs into the tent and then forcefully slashes his armor with Tense Change #8.5, cutting his back in the process.

"Auugggg!!" The the soldier yelled as he dropped the lance and fell down. Richard: *in a monotone* This is the most compelling battle scene I have ever read. Not.

"Florina, are you okay?" Lyn asked.

"Lady Lyndis?" Florina said quietly, "Lady Lyndis... You saved me..."
Guardian's Song: The puncutation's wonky, but... bleh, hardly worth noting at this point...

"Hurry Florina,
Roy: - a cousin of Slow Down Florina, Stop Florina, and Faster, Faster Florina -
take this lance and help us!" Lyn said as she took the lance that the soldier was using and hands it to her.
Elbe: (Florina) The Lance of Tense Change! Milady Lyndis -

And that makes 9.5.

Hector then comes running in the tent.
Roy: *narrating* Hector also comes swimming in the lake and climbing up trees, because he really enjoys his exercise - *dodges hurled Fenrir tome*
Richard: "Hector then comes RUNNING INTO the tent"...
"CHARGE!!!" he yelled as he entered,
Elbe: (Hector) - THIS TENSE CHANGE TO THE AUTHOR'S CREDIT CARD!!! THAT'S NUMBER 10.5 SO FAR!!!
"Huh? Weren't you screaming Florina?"
Roy: (Lyn) I scream "Florina!" a lot, as you might notice. Mostly at night.

"Umm... I..." Florina started.

"I took care of it." Lyn said, "You
Elbe: *under breath* - switch the period and the comma -
make sure this wounded soldier doesn't do anything while we go out and fight!"

"What?! I have to watch over the wounded soldier?" Hector asked, PERIOD! NOT COMMA! "Why can't you?"
Richard: (Hector) And why aren't we killing him? You know, like all the other generic soldiers we fight?

"Because I have to watch Florina!" Lyn said.

"But... Lady Lyndis..." Florina started.

"Don't you realize others are capable of watching over her?" Hector complained.
Richard: (Hector) And do you realize I'm one of the most lauded units in this army? You do not send the Memetic Badass to watch over a wounded enemy unit. You just don't.

"Umm... Lady Lyndis..." Florina started.

"But I'd feel more comfortable if I watcher over her. COMMA! NOT PERIOD!" Lyn stated.

"So you doubt my ability to watch over her!?" Hector asked incredulously said.
Richard: (Lyn) No, but I doubt your ability to watcher over her.

"Lady Lyndis..." Florina started.

"That's not what I'm saying Hector!" Lyn said.
Roy: "Saying Hector": a cousin of Yelling Hector, Screaming Hector, and Moaning Hector. The latter being the porn-star black sheep of the family, of course.
Elbe: ...Comma...

"That's what it sounds like COMMA! though!" Hector exclaimed.

Then Eliwood enters the tent and notices them fighting.
Elbe: - over the eleventh-and-a-half tense change so far -

"But that isn't what I meant!" Lyn stated.

"But that's what you sound like you mean!" Hector said.

"That doesn't mean I did mean that!" Lyn stated.

"But it does..." Hector started
Guardian's Song: Well, points for getting the bickering down pat, even if I think they were only at this level while suffering from the Magic Seal's influence.

"Everyone! We need you outside!!!" Eliwood interrupts.

"But what about this dumb soldier here?" Hector asked.

"I'll watch over the soldier, the rest of you should go out and fight!" Eliwood said.
Guardian's Song: ...And to be fair, Eliwood would be the one to volunteer to watch over a wounded enemy. And given his distinct mediocrity in battle, the tactician wouldn't mind.

"I can't complain with that!"
Richard: (Hector) Though I definitely can complain ABOUT that.
Hector said,  Period, not comma."Let's go you two!"

"Okay...." Florina said quietly.

Chapter 1

Lyn and Florina follow Lord Hector
Guardian's Song: Lyn is "Lady Lyn", if you're going to use the formal titles.
as he comes dashing out, attacking the nearest enemy. Lyn watches as he attacks like a berserker, "I really worry about him sometimes..." Lyn said.
Elbe: (Lyn) All those tense changes, they can't be good for him.

As she is looking at Hector, she doesn't notice the enemy riding towards her, Semicolon, not comma. Florina does notice it COMMA! though, Period, not comma. "Lady Lyndis!" Florina started,  Period, not comma. "Look out!!!"
Elbe: *twitch* Tense change #13.5... And all the abused punctuation... *twitch* Oh, the commanity...

...I suppose the saddest part, though, is that I should be feeling happy that my worst complaints are about the punctuation, not about the horrific personalities of the main characters...

Lyn turns around just in time to see the fourteenth-and-a-half tense change enemy cavalier ride over and grab her. "LADY LYNDIS!" Florina yells as she starts to run after the cavalier, but since she isn't on her Pegasus, she can't catch up.
Guardian's Song: You know, I actually thought, "Gee, that makes perfect sense - why can't enemy cavaliers carry off your units?"

Then I realized the answer was "Because nonconsensual capturing would lead to a swift and brutal death for the cavalier who just let a very powerful and very hostile warrior onto their horse, you great dope."

Hector then notices the cavalier and sees that he's captured Lyn. "Lyn! I'm coming to save you!" He he yells as he runs towards the cavalier with his axe ready.

As he approaches the cavalier, he swings his axe towards him, but all he manages to do is scare the horse and make it start running away with the cavalier still on it. "Darn!" Hector yells as he notices that he got his axe stuck in the ground.

Then Florina comes running towards the cavalier, "LADY LYNDIS!!!" she yells as she's running.

Then Kent and Sain beat the enemy they're fighting and get up on their horses to save her.
Richard: I take it the author actually has experience with the FE games where cavaliers could dismount?

As the horse runs faster, the cavalier notices that they're headed towards a cliff. "HAHAHA!" He he laughed, "This will be the perfect way to end your life!!!"
Elbe: (Cavalier) With another tense change!!!

Lyn, although not screaming, is scared that this might be the end of her life.
Guardian's Song: Thank you, Captain Obvious!
Elbe: Also, that makes the sixteenth-and-a-half tense change.

"Lady Lyndis!" Florina yells as she tosses her lance at the cavalier, attempting to save Lyn, but she misses the cavalier and he continues to ride towards the cliff.

"Florina... Be strong..." Lyn said as they got closer to tense change #17.5 the cliff.
Guardian's Song: I'd think she'd have bigger things on her mind than Florina. Such as "I can't die yet!" or 'Lemme try to get off this bloody horse...' or 'Why have I not stabbed this wretch in the back yet?' To be fair, I understand that this might be trying to show how important Florina is to Lyn, but... eh. The author is not good enough to pull it off. 

"LYN!!!!! NO!!!" Florina yelled as she watched them approach the cliff.

The horse then stops a few feet before tense change #18.5 the cliff. "Well, it looks like today is the end of your life!" The thecavalier laughed. Richard: Gloating while you're being pursued by four members of the enemy army is completely and utterly brain-dead. Elbe: Well, he had to change the tense. It's a valuable skill in the Black Fang, apparently. As the cavalier prepares to toss her, Kent and Sain start getting closer.
Elbe: Twenty-and-a-half... Florina just stands there in terror terrified, thinking that she will see Lyn get killed.
Richard: Incidentally - where is your Pegasus? How far IS it tethered away from your tent?

Hector finally lifts his axe out of the ground, but then he notices he was a little bit too late, as the cavalier is about to toss her down the cliff, Period! Not comma! "Darn!" Hector yelled.
Elbe: (Hector) Not ANOTHER tense change! "Now, DIE!!!!" The cavalier yelled as he tosses her toward tense change #22.5 the cliff.

"NOOOOOOO!!!" Florina yelled.
Roy: I never knew Florina was a Skywalker!

"Lady Lyndis!" Kent yelled.

"Milady!!! No!" Sain yelled.

"Lyn!" Hector yelled.

Lyn tumbled toward the edge, then she rolls off, but grabs onto tense change #23.5 the edge.

"Darn you! Why won't you just die!" The the cavalier yelled, viciously swinging tense change #24.5.

Florina noticed that there is still a chance to save her, so she runs and grabs tense change #25.5 the lance which she tossed earlier and runs towards the cavalier, SEMICOLON! NOT COMMA! as she does that, Hector, Sain, and Kent also started running towards tense change #26.5 the cavalier.

The cavalier got off his horse with a lance in his hand, and walked towards the edge, but he didn't notice how close Florina was getting. As he reached the edge, he laughed and started to raise his lance to stab her hands and make her lose her grip. Richard: Alternatively, he could just ram it into her exposed head or something of the like - or stomp down on her hands. But, you know, that would be Earth Logic.  "Nothing can save you now!" The the cavalier laughed. "Except for the plot device that is always summoned by my very words! Curse you, Evil Underling List!"

But then Florina gets to him and stabs him with tense change #27.5 her lance. "Gahhggg!" The the cavalier grunted as he fell overinto tense change #28.5 . Then Florina kneeled down, and extended her hands. "Lady Lyndis, grab my hands." She said. Then Lyn reached out and grabbed one hand, and then grabbed the other. Florina started to pull her up, but she wasn't strong enough and was struggling to not drop her. "Lady Lyndis... I can't... lift you..." Florina said. But then Hector walked over and helped Florina pull Lyn up.
Roy: *waves "Hector/Florina/Lyn OT3" flag* "Florina, you saved me, thanks. COMMA! NOT PERIOD!" Lyn said.

"Lady Lyndis, I was worried..." Florina said.

Sain then walks over, PERIOD! NOT COMMA!"Lovely Florina! You make such a beautiful hero!" He said.

"Eeeek!" She she yelled as she stepped back a bit.

"You are so lovely when you are afraid. COMMA! NOT PERIOD!" Sain stated.
Guardian's Song: ... Hey guys, if you're looking for a great line for a VILLAIN...

"SAIN! STOP IT!" Kent yelled, PERIOD! NOT COMMA! "You're giving Christian Grey ideas! scaring her!"

"But must I let all that beauty go to waste?" Sain asked.
Roy: Public Service Announcement: Pervert != Rapist In Making. Thank you.

"Just keep your mouth shut for once COMMA! Sain. COMMA! NOT PERIOD!" Kent said.

Then Eliwood walks out of the tent with tense change #29.5 the injured soldier with him. Then Marcus rides up to him. "Eliwood, you really missed all the action." Marcus said.

"Really, what happened?" Eliwood asked.

"Well, it's kind of a long thing to tell, but it was VERY exciting!" Marcus said.

"Marcus, why is everyone else over there when you're over here?" Eliwood asked.

"I was busy eating up experience..." Marcus said.
Roy: *dodges shrapnel from the vicious destruction of the Fourth Wall*

"Err, oookay..." Eliwood said.
Richard: Sooooooo IC. *gags at having said that*
"Let's go join the others."

"Okay. COMMA! NOT PERIOD!" Marcus said.

Later, Lyn and Florina are alone with tense change #30.5 sitting at the camp fire while everyone else is inside the tent.
Richard: They... really... do... sleep... in... one... tent. ...*HEADNECRONOMICON*

"Florina, thanks again for saving my life, I'm really grateful. COMMA! NOT PERIOD!" Lyn said.
Elbe: Thirty-ONE-and-a-half...

"Lady Lyndis... I'm just glad I was able to save you..." Florina started, PERIOD! NOT COMMA! "I don't know what I would have done if you died..."

Then Lyn walks over and sits next to tense change #32.5 Florina, PERIOD! NOT COMMA! "Florina, I. COMMA! NOT PERIOD!" Lyn started.
Elbe: Thirty-THREE-and-a-half...

"Lady Lyndis... I..." Florina started.

Then Hector walks out with tense change #34.5, PERIOD! NOT COMMA! "Hey! What are you two doing? You're missing the party!" Hector exclaimed.
Elbe: Thirty-FIVE-and-a-half...

"Umm... What party?" Florina asked.

"The one to celebrate you saving Lyn and showing your true bravery!" Hector said, PERIOD! NOT COMMA!"Didn't anyone tell you about it?"

"Umm... No, I didn't even know about it..." Florina said.

"Well, get in the tent and celebrate already!" Hector said.
Roy: (Florina) And... what about the party for Eliwood saving Ninian, and Oswin saving Serra, and Lucius saving Raven, and Marcus saving Merlinus, and Priscilla saving Erk, and -
(Hector) Ah, we're combining them all into one! Just hurry up and get in here!

Chapter 2

The next morning, when Florina woke up, she saw Lyn sitting next to her.

"Good morning Florina.
Roy: A relative of Good Night Florina, Happy Birthday Florina, and It's Our Anniversary Florina.
Elbe: ...Comma...
I made breakfast for you. COMMA! NOT PERIOD!" Lyn said as she was smiling.

"Umm... Thank you COMMA! Lady Lyndis. COMMA! NOT PERIOD!" Florina said.

"I hope you enjoy your breakfast. COMMA! NOT PERIOD!" Lyn said, PERIOD! NOT COMMA! "I'm headed outside to enjoy the fresh air."

Then Lyn put the food she made for Florina next to her, then started to walk towards the exit of the tent.

"Umm... Lady Lyndis..." Florina started.

"Yes, Florina?" Lyn said as she stopped and turned around.

"I... Umm... Well..." Florina stuttered, "Umm... Never mind..."

"Okay. COMMA! NOT PERIOD!" Lyn said as she turned around, then she walked out of the tent.

Outside the tent.
Guardian's Song: *breaks down in hysterical laughter* Author, have you heard of formatting or line breaks?! It looks like you literally put that it as a sentence of prose!

"Hey, Eliwood!" Hector said, PERIOD! NOT COMMA! "Let's have a little spar!"
Roy: ...
...*sourly twiddles thumbs*

"I really don't need to practice right now..." Eliwood said.

"What's up with you?" Hector asked.
Roy: ...The things I could be saying right now...

"I'm thinking about something Marcus said earlier..." Eliwood said.

"What is that?" Hector asked.

"I noticed that he didn't really take place in the fight yesterday, so I asked him what he was doing, and he said he was 'to TOO busy eating up experience.'"
Richard: Yes, author, you blew up the fourth wall - must you dance on its corpse?

"That's strange..." Hector commented

Then Lyn walked up to them.

"Hello Eliwood. COMMA! NOT PERIOD!" Lyn said.
Roy: A cousin of -

"Hello Lyndis..." Eliwood responded.
Roy: - "Hello Lyndis", apparently.

"What's wrong?" Lyn asked.

"To make a long story short, Eliwood is confused because Marcus said that he was 'eating up experience.'"
Richard: Apparently you must.
Hector answered, "Very strange, isn't it?"

"I don't remember Marcus being like that..." Lyn said.
Guardian's Song: I have no idea what the point of breaking the fourth wall was. Did someone comment in the reviews that something was off? Let me check... 

As it turns out, no, but -
